Procrastinating will never have a higher price. Preach the gospel to yourself today by living it moment by moment. Preach the gospel to others by dying moment by moment. Die to self, pride, fear, human effort, cravings, and childishness. Today, tomorrow, and forever.
Highly recommend viewing an amazing message given to college students by John Piper. Holy Ambition: Paul's and Your's www.desiringgod.org/ResourceLibrary/MediaPlayer/4460/Video/
Have we walked through the door of Christianity and not the door of Christ?
Stop and listen to Jesus in the gospels.
Listen carefully tohear what He said in the way that He meant it.
Re-ignite your passion for Jesus.
Respond to His call to pick up your cross and follow Him.
Learn how to share your faith with wisdom, power, and joy.

Dying to self...a puzzling idea to contemplate in our current culture. An even more amazing concept to live out. Painful, yes, but oh so freeing and liberating.
ReplyDeleteSeveral nights ago I went to bed in a funk, overwhelmed with all the things on my "to do" list. Graciously, the Lord opened my eyes to see that many, many of the "to dos" were still focused on self..maintaining self image, worried about the self I am presenting to others, self-pit about how someone was treating me.
The conclusion: I can make my"self" pretty miserable. Lord, save me a life lived for self. Its gratification is always fleeting and temporary. I want to die to self, that I might actually find true, abundant life in you!
